On Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the age of 89, Aline Cyr, having succumbed to old age, passed on to a better place.

She was born Aline Beaulieu on October 16, 1933 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Rene Beaulieu and Laura (Desjardins) Beaulieu.

She attended high school in Grand Falls and later nursing school in Moncton, NB.

In 1953, she met and dated Bernard Cyr, an American from the opposite side of the St. John River and they were married in 1954. The couple settled in Van Buren, Maine where they raised a family of 6 children.

After Bernard retired from his successful insurance business, they traveled about the US for a couple years and then settled in Florida, first in Lakeland and then in The Villages, where they made lots of friends and enjoyed the community and the weather.

In their later years, they lived together in a small retirement community, Lakeview Terrace, in Altoona, Florida. Bernard passed away in 2014 and Aline remained at Lakeview for a few years. She later moved to a retirement home in Mountain Home Idaho, where her nurse-daughter, Paula, took on the responsibility of overseeing her care.

Aline enjoyed socializing with family and friends, reading books, playing cards, making puzzles, and traveling with her husband. She was also very active in her church and community.

Her children remember her fondly as a gentle, caring mother who taught the values of moral integrity, religious reverence, and civic duty.
