Obituary of Alicia O. Price

Alicia Oaxaca Price, 78, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Alicia was born on January 3, 1942, in Middlesex, North Carolina to Valton and Alice Hinton. She grew up in Garner, North Carolina with her brothers Doug and Clark. She graduated from Garner High School in 1960. 

Alicia enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960 and served as a U.S. Naval Radio Operator in the San Diego, California area from 1961-1963. 

She eventually relocated to the Saint Petersburg, Florida area where she worked for the Saint Petersburg Times. Alicia became one of the first female Circulation District Managers in company history, retiring in 1997. 

Alicia and her husband Tom Price, moved to Idaho in 2005 to be closer to her daughter Jessica Walker and her grandchildren Jason and Samantha Walker. She enjoyed watching the snow come down and loved Idaho's mountains. She especially loved the Stanley Valley and Redfish Lake. 

She was preceded in death by her father Valton Hinton and her mother Alice Hinton.

Alicia is survived by her husband Tom Price; brothers Doug Hinton and Clark Hinton; daughters Samantha Ashe and Jessica Walker; son Kelly Ketchum; grandsons Jason, Cody, Cameron, and Casey; granddaughters Samantha, Hayley, and Emma; and 2 great-grandchildren.  

No services are planned. Cremation is under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
