Obituary of Mavis Pauline Landis

Mavis Pauline Landis, age 86, of Hammett, went peacefully home to be with her Savior and Lord on February 16, 2020. Mavis was born to Tim and Mary Hamilton on May 30, 1933 in Sheridan, Oregon, and was the third of eleven children.

When Mavis was 12 her family moved to Idaho. She met the love of her life Milton and they were married on June 24, 1951. Mavis and Milton spent the next 68 years raising their family and running their farm. Mavis was very active in the church, including being the church chorister, and teaching Sunday School. She also enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family. Some other interests were reading her bible, doll crafting, propagating roses, growing irises, and raising singing canaries.

Mavis is survived by her husband Milton, her children Tim (Melody), Ed (Amy), Steve (Pamela), Nisa (Ron), Ron (Madaline), her 10 siblings, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Kids Alive International, at kidsalive.org. Milton and Mavis supported the Kids Alive Program, the Ark, in the Dominican Republic for many years.
